Inserting a LyX formula into the Moodle answer form

  1. Run the lyx command to start the \( \LaTeX \) editor, then click the new document button.

  2. Use the Ctrl+M shortcut to enter the math mode.

  3. Type your \( \LaTeX \) formula, for instance type a then ^ to enter in a superscript context.

  4. Type 2 to complete the formula, then select it and use the Ctrl+C shortcut to put it in the clipboard.

  5. Start the equation editor on Moodle.

  6. Paste your formula into the equation editor with the Ctrl+V shortcut. It will be entered as a \( \LaTeX \) formula.

  7. Insert your formula into the answer form by pressing the bottom gray button.

Viewing a Moodle formula with LyX

  1. Select the formula, then use the Ctrl+C shortcut to put it in the clipboard.

  1. Run the lyx command to start the \( \LaTeX \) editor, then click the new document button.
